The Story of BagruWala – A Journey of Art, Dedication & Heritage
In 2001, a young man named Om Prakash Chhipa from the small town of Bagru, Rajasthan, took his first step toward his dreams. Bagru, known across the world for its traditional hand block printing, became the foundation of his artistic journey. He began working at a small printing workshop and fully dedicated himself to learning and mastering this age-old craft.
From 2001 to 2005, he lived and breathed the alleys and earthy essence of Bagru, imprinting his artistry on thousands of fabrics. Every block, every design, and every color reflected his passion and skill.
But dreams don’t stop there. In 2005, Om Prakash moved to Sanganer, a renowned region in Jaipur celebrated for its own legacy of hand block printing. Here, he explored new designs, vibrant color palettes, and gained deeper insights into the textile market.
By 2009, backed by years of experience, belief, and relentless hard work, he launched his own hand block printing factory. Not only did he continue traditional block printing, but also introduced a dedicated line of unstitched Sanganeri suit sets. For him, each fabric became a story — infused with the fragrance of Bagru’s soil, the hues of Sanganer, and the craftsmanship of his hands.
His designs stood out for their uniqueness — each piece carried the soul of handcraft and the grace of tradition. It wasn’t long before he became a recognized name, admired as a leading designer and manufacturer. Today, under the brand name BagruWala, his work is widely known across offline markets all over India, supplying to retailers nationwide.
Now, in 2025, this journey enters a new era. Mr. Om Prakash is stepping into the online world through BagruWala.com. His dream is to take the handcrafted legacy of Bagru and Sanganer to every home in India — and beyond.
